Drishti’s relatives were stuck in the Chennai Floods and due to lack of electricity, there was no contact with them. The family was naturally worried. It was then when this 9th standard student of Prem Vidyalaya, Agra wanted to design something that could generate electricity.Her inspiration came when she saw a bicycle tyre produce a spark because of friction. And then, there was no looking back.
Drishti made a bicycle which was capable of producing electricity under Rs. 500. She started research on this project along with her friends and decided on what all would they need for this device to generate electricity. They incorporated a battery, an alternator, bridge, capacitor, voltage regulator, and an LED light to the cycle.
Our Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, always encourages such young entrepreneurs. The state government of Uttar Pradesh welcomes start up initiatives and run various programs for the same. It has also earned the title of ‘New Emerging Start Up State’ due to favourable conditions and growing development.
